Question and Answers

Q:

specs for Kenmore microwave 66560659000 Kenmore Microwave/hood combo

Q:

it is not heating food 66560659000 Kenmore Microwave/hood combo

A:

I know what a time saver the microwave can be and how inconvenient it is when it isn't working.

I can appreciate wanting to diagnose and repair the microwave yourself, however I strongly recommend against it. We do not give repair information on microwave ovens because they are inherently dangerous to service. Microwaves contain high voltage internal components that can retain a lethal electrical charge even when the microwave is completely unplugged. You need special equipment to work on a microwave starting with an anti-static wrist strap grounded to the microwave to even test components in it. Even minor door repairs and adjustments can cause microwave leakage, and a microwave shielding leakage test MUST be performed using a survey meter after any microwave service.

For these safety reasons I strongly recommend having this repair completed by a qualified service technician. You can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician by calling 1-800-469-4663. Q:

Clearance between cooking top and bottom of microwave?

A:

Hi,

Thanks for contacting  ManageMyLife.  I understand how frustrating it is having trouble with your appliance.

The hood should be 30 inches above the cooking surface minimum.  The microwave will hang down lower but the distance you are talking about is too little and the microwave will be affected by the heat and splatter from the cooktop.  And the measurement  is just barely in the minimum distance.

Please feel free to let me know if you need further assistance. We are always here to help.

Thank
