If I understand your problem the "float" was melted when it came out of the standpipe and hit the heater.

The 3376397 float assembly should be just the float. See part key 32 in the image below.

The float should just drop into the standpipe. When you lift it up and down you should hear a click from the float switch. The switch is part key 30 in the image.

If the standpipe was damaged then the tub would need to be replaced.

The float should just slip into the standpipe.

I hope this helps. You can reply with any additional details for further assistance.

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

First, I must inform you that the dispenser operation is all mechanical and not electronic. There is cam attached to the timer stem which rotates along slowly with the timer knob. The cam causes the draw bar to slide up and down which causes the dispenser lever to trip and release the door.

I assume the dispenser door will spring open when the dispenser trip lever is manually tripped. If not, check the spring on the under the lid where it pivot.

I added an image below with instructions how to access and how the remove the dispenser components. You should be able to locate the problem once you have accessed the dispenser components. You can latch the dispenser door and then rotate the timer while watching the dispenser draw bars.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .
