Question and Answers

Q:

removing washer bar help 66517625691 Kenmore Portable dishwasher

A:

The filter and housing below the lower spray arm is not designed to be easily removed and cleaned.  You will have to remove the nozzle cap, spray arm, pump outlet screws and the pump outlet (spray arm support), the wash impeller and then 4 screws.  The filter is a self cleaning filter and should not need to be removed for cleaning.

To remove the lower spray arm, unscrew the nozzle cap securing the lower spray arm to the pump outlet. To remove the nozzle cap, turn it counter-clockwise (CCW) and remove it. Then lift the lower spray arm off.

Q:

Connector for portable dishwasher

A:

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

If your Peerless faucet has a pull out or pull down type of faucet, a portable dishwasher adapter should not be connected on this type of faucet.

There are two things that must match, the threads and the size of the nipple that the hose assembly must snap and lock on. So make sure the adapter fits the hose coupler before installing the adapter.

The original adapter was part # 3374592 which now substitutes to part #W10254672 which has inside and outside threads. This adapter can be purchased at Searspartsdirect. If it does not fit, I would not be able to provide any other part number that I would know that would fit the hose coupler that came with the dishwasher.

The threads sizes are not shown for the above faucet adapter.  I added a link to Google with images of the faucet adapter part #W10254672

I hope this is helpful. If I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post.

Joey, this is the part that I got with my dishwasher, however it does not fit my faucet. Do they not make any kind of adapters for this? Not every faucet is made to Sears specs...

Judith: I'm not aware of any type of adapter to use to adapt the existing coupler to the Peerless faucet. You may want to try a plumbing supply and see if they can come with some type of adapter.

Removing the screws will enable you to get into the pump and check the drain impeller.

If the unit will not fill or drain then the coupler assembly may be at fault.  The coupler has both the fill and drain hose attached.

In the description you say the dishwasher will fill and drain in the quick rinse cycle.  If this is true the the control board may be at fault.

If the dishwasher will fill and drain in the Quick Rinse cycle then the drain impeller is most likely okay.

You can reply below with any additional details or questions for further assistance.

If the diehwasher will fill and drain in one cycle but not the others then the Timer will be most likdely at fault. When I mentioned control I meant to say Timer. The 3378578 timer can be obtained from the following link: SearsPartsDirect .

Once I got the water out of the bottom, it did fill, but still did not drain. According to my repair parts book I have to remove the pump base in order to get to the drain check valve. Is this true? Is there an easier way to see if the drain valve is clogged? If not, I will have to buy a pump centering tool?

A:

Thomas, If the dishwasher will drain in one cycle but no other most likely the drain is not clogged and the problem is with the Timer. A simple way to check for a drain clog is to remove the drain hose from under the sink and lower it over a shallow pan. When the hose is beneath the water level in the dishwasher then it should drain using gravity. It the water does not drain then likely there is a clog.

Fred, unfortunately, this is a portable, and the hose cannot be laid down below the water level. Does this mean I have to remove the pump base? Also, according to the parts list at Sears Direct, the timer is no longer available!!

The timer is not available for purchase. Replacing the dishwasher would likely be your best option since the timer is no longer available for purchase.
