Question and Answers

Q:

Why won't top rack of dishes not getting clean?

A:

I understand how important it is to have a Dishwasher that is working properly since dirty dishes do gather quickly. I have taken the time to research on the Manage My Life website and have located some information similar to your issue that you are experiencing. While you are waiting for an expert to reply i have attached the few links below.

Thank you for choosing Manage My Life. First I recommend that you check for cracks or splits in the upper spray arm. Check the spray holes for deposits that could be blocking the spray pattern. Make sure that the top rack is pushed all of the way in so that the top spray arm docks in the rear inner feed tube.

Check the water level in the dishwasher. Start a cycle and allow the dishwasher to fill. Crack the door open to stop the cycle as soon as the filling stops. Open the door fully and look at the water level in the bottom of the sump. It should be within 1/4" to just touching the bottom of the heating element. If it is too low, then you may try manually adding some water to see if the upper spray arm will work properly. To permanently fix this low water level problem, you will likely need to pull the dishwasher out and check the water pressure and flow from the water line. A problem with a clogged inlet screen on the water valve could also prevent the dishwasher from filling properly.

Below I have provided an image to help with this repair. I hope this information helps you today.

A:

The diagram attached to rgabriella02's post does not correspond to my model (665.13749k601). M;y model has the Turbo Zone feature which may explain the difference. Please provide me with the correct image/diagram or a "workaround". As initially explained, water level is not the problem. From my tests, the spray pattern does not provide any water to the upper rack. Thank you.

I have a Kenmore Elite, Model # 665.17579202. I read the "Expert" advise above. I checked the water lever, it is fine. I checked the tube going up the back and the arm that spins, they are clean. I read a posting about putting four upright cups in the corners of the top rack. I let the dishwasher fill, ran it for 45 seconds, then checked the how much water was in the cups. There wasn't any water in the cups. Any suggestions of what to try next?

Q:

Dishwasher cycle too long 665 17579202

A:

Thank you for choosing SearsPartsDirect. I will be more than happy to assist you with your Kenmore dishwasher.

From the information you have provided above, I can understand the frustration of having your Dishwasher malfunction, after researching model number 665.17579202. On this model the cycle times should fall anywhere between 1 hour to an hour and a half. So the 3 hour time for the cycle may be a little high. The first thing that comes to mind is that the dishwasher may not be getting hot enough. This will cause the dishwasher to run longer until the water reaches the proper temperature. The water should be reaching 120F as it enters the dishwasher.

I hope you found this information useful. Again thank you for choosing Sears, we appreciate your business, have a great day.
