Thank you for your question there is no diagnostic key dance to check a stuck key however you can try these steps. Run the water at the sink, fill a cup and check the temperature in the cup. If it is below 120 degrees, that may be causing the dishwasher to continue to pause while the water is heated to temperature. If it is very low, it may even affect the quick wash. If the temperature is too low, adjust the hot water heater. If the water checks ok, the thermistor may not be sensing the temperature or the heating element may not be consistently heating the water. When the dishwasher pauses, it may be on a thermal hold. Open the door, check the water level. It should be just below the heating element. If you can, check the water temperature in the tub. If the water is at temperature, it may be the thermistor is not properly sensing the temperature, causing the hold. If the water is not reaching temperature, the heating element may be malfunctioning. It may also be the soil sensing pressure switch is not doing its job. Run the dishwasher through a cleaning cycle or two using a cup of white vinegar or a cleaning product like Dishwasher Affresh. If the problem continues and you feel comfortable making resistance checks, then check the wiring for a short. Sometimes the steam gets in to the electronic controls and can cause an intermittent problem. Remember to disconnect power to the dishwasher before any service. The images below contain electrical diagrams and how to access the control.  To check the wiring try a multimeter and check each wire for continunity if any read too low that wire is causing the problem. Let us say you tried them all and all check out just fine and all connections are good to your heater and to your control board. Then the control board will need to be replaced. I hope this is helpful.

How to remove the lower wash arm in my Kenmore dishwasher?

A:

Hold the wash arm stationary while turning the spray arm support nut clockwise (CW). If you need to tear into further, see instructions in the images below. NOTE: Disconnect the power supply to the dishwasher if you plan on removing the lower toe panel.
