Question and Answers

Q:

Why can't I remove my inlet protector on our Kenmore dishwasher?

A:

The inlet is likely stuck. You will likely have use more force in order to get to come loose and lift off. In order for any object to pass through the inlet protector it would have to very small. I'm sure you will be able to free the inlet protector and get it off to check the chopper blade assembly area for any plastic.

Q:

How do I clean out a broken dish from the bottom of my Kenmore dishwasher model 665.17519202?

A:

The image below shows a procedure for removing the bottom spray arm assembly and even accessing the sump area all the way down to the chopper assembly. Shut off the breaker to disconnect electrical power before beginning this procedure. Pull out the dishwasher racks. The upper rack will have stops that need to be removed. Pay attention to the manner in which these stops are inserted so that you can properly replace them when reassembling the dishwasher. If you find all of the glass after removing the spray arm assembly, then you may not need to continue with accessing the sump area.

There is not a repair manual available for this dishwasher. We can provide some specific repair procedures such as the one shown below. We will be glad to help you with any other repairs as needed on the dishwasher. If you need more help, resubmit your question with additional details.
