Hi Stanley,

Thank you for submitting a question to Manage My Life.

Without being there to hear the thumping noise for myself this is a hard thing to diagnose. I recommend that you try to determine where the noise is coming from. Does it sound like it is coming from the bottom? This most likely indicates something with the pump and motor assembly. If the noise is coming from higher up check the spray arm. You can spin it by hand and make sure it is not hitting the rack. Run the dishwasher with no dishes in it to see if it makes the noise when empty. I am including the instructions for disassembly in the images below. Always unplug or de-energize electrical equipment before removing covers or attempting service. Be careful and wear appropriate hand protection when working around sharp metal parts.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website; Sears Home Services .

Here is a link that you may use to view the parts list diagram or purchase any parts needed for your appliance; Sears Parts Direct .

I hope this is helpful. Check the things I have covered here and if I may be of further assistance please reply to this post.
