Although the original heating element has been replaced by a substituted part (W10134009), it should still fit in your dishwasher the same way that the original heating element was installed. Here is a link for a video that describes the repair: Dishwasher Heating Element Replacement I hope that this information helps.

I think the inlet valve may very well be your problem but the valve and water heat have nothing to do with each other except the valve provides the water that is heated.

The 8531671 valve is available for about $43 dollars from the following link: Sears PartsDirect .

Before you buy the valve and spend $43 dollars there is something you might check first. Start a cycle and after the wash starts pause the dishwasher and check how much water in the tub there is. It should be within a 1/4 inch or so of the element. It will not cover the element.

If the water level is okay here then check again in the rinse cycle. Some dishwashers can lose water as they wash.

If the water level is a little low then replacing the valve would be a good idea. If the water level is okay then when you check the water level in the rinse cycle see how hot the water is.

A water heating problem might mean a bad timer/control, element, hi-limit thermostat or even a door switch.

If you make these checks you can reply with a few more details and we can go from there.

When the time comes I can provide how-to instructions and illustrations to help you with this problem.

Q:

Why is the soap not dissolving in my dishwasher?

A:

Changing the thermostat and now all the cycles finish is a good start. The problem with the soap not dispensing is most likely a problem with water circulation.

The dispenser is opening you say and leaving the soap clump on the bottom of the tub.

First check the water level. After a fill you can open the door and check the water level. The water level should be to the base of the element supports.

Let the dishwasher run a few minutes and check the level again. If there is no air gap then a siphon can occur.

The water must be hot.

If the dispenser is leaking then the soap can get wet before dispensing and it will clump.

One trick to check the water circulation is to place a cup in each corner and run the dishwasher a few minutes and check and see if each cup has water in it.

The last thing to check is make sure there is not a cookie sheet or bowl in front of the dispenser.

This dishwasher only runs one spray arm at a time. If both or turning at the same time there will not be enough wash pressure and something in the sump has failed and will require a service technician to diagnose this problem.
