Thank you for your question.  I am sorry you are having a problem with your Kenmore 665.17023401 dishwahser

Caution: Before attempting any repair, turn the power to the dishwasher off.

The element may not even be the problem.  The clean light blinking can indicate a water heating problem.  This can be caused by the element, control board, high limit thermostat, or even excessive suds.

First thing to try is to clear the clean light blinking by running a diagnostic test.  You enter the test by pressing the following keypads, Heated Dry-Normal-Heated Dry-Normal in less than 6 seconds.  This may clear the error.  If there is a problem then after a few loads you might see the clean light blinking again.  While the unit works see if you can tell if the water is being heated.  At the end of a cycle the dishes should be almost to hot to pick up.

You can reply below with any additional details.  Thank you for using Manage My Life.

Thanks for contacting ManageMyLife.com. I understand how frustrating it is having trouble with your dishwasher not running. We are here to help. Joseph did provide you a good link on a dead dishwasher. I recommend checking the fuse. It is located in the control panel. If the fuse is bad, make sure to use all the parts in the updated fuse kit. A:

That link for a previous answer that Joseph P. provided in the above response should help you resolve this issue. It has a reset procedure (HEATED DRY - NORMAL WASH - HEATED DRY - NORMAL WASH) that you can use to reset the control. Check that heating element and monitor the dishwasher for continued problems.

If you need more help, reply with additional details and we will assist you further.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .
