I know how important it is to have a good working dishwasher in the home so that you can keep your dishes nice and clean. I did some research and I was able to find a link that will provide you with some good information. I am also adding a second link in where you can set service to have your dishwasher repaired by a certified technician. The image below contains the diagnostic test for this dishwasher. Try this an see if it clears the problem. You should be able to select all cycles and options. If you can not select all cycles and options then make sure the "control lock" is not turned on. The control lock feature is turned on and off by pressing and holding the heated dry option keypad for 3-5 seconds. Try the test and let me know what happens.

Thank you for your replies & ideas. After doing the diagnostics, the dishwasher made a complete cycle normally. Today after the 2nd time washing dishes, the "clean" is blinking in codes of 7 & will not reset. I do not feel like the Kenmore quality is as it once was. I feel like $155.00 spent is enough wasted on a 2005 dishwasher. The old addage "you get what you pay for" still washes dishes, if you know what I mean. Time to take my loss & move on to a better, more reliable brand.

The 665 source indicates this is a Whirlpool dishwasher just so you will know. Since the unit ran through the test I suspect the main control is okay and the problem is a stuck or shorted keypad on the console. Replacing the console will likely fix this problem. Now is a great time of year to be shopping. Good Luck.

SAFETY NOTICE: Be sure to disconnect power to the appliance before performing any repairs. If you are not comfortable with doing any voltage checks that might be recommended, please contact your local service provider for repairs. Be aware that there could be sharp edges inside the appliance that could cause cuts or other injuries to yourself or others.

If the clean light flashes 7 times & pauses this is a heater fault error code. I recommend trying to put the unit in a service diagnosis cycle to reset the electronic control. Please see the images provided below from the service tech sheet explaining this error code & recommended troubleshooting tips.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .
