You indicate that power is supplied to the dishwasher. If the control panel does not light up, you could have a blown TCO (Thermal Cut-Out) fuse. Here is a link for a previous answer that describes the replacement of a TCO fuse in this type of dishwasher: Why did my dishwasher stop working and has no lights or power at the control panel?

If the console does light up, you could have a bad door switch. Here is a link for a previous answer that describes troubleshooting for a bad door switch: Why does the start light flash but my Kenmore UltraWash dishwasher model 665.1313 won't start the cycle?

A problem with the electronic control board or the wiring could also be causing this problem.

These tips should help you get started with the troubleshooting for this problem if you are going to fix the dishwasher yourself. If you need more help, reply with additional details.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

Q:

Why is my Kenmore model 665.17003400 dishwasher still not draining even though I changed the drain impellers?

A:

To answer your question, yes the electronic control or the motor could be the cause of the no drain problem but there are some other things to check also.

Referring to the picture of the sump in the 1st image below you say the drain impeller was changed but there was no improvement. The check valve, part key 15, is another possibility. Lower the drain hose over a shallow pan so the end of the hose is lower than the bottom of the tub. The water in the tub should drain out freely. A bad check valve can cause a no drain problem.

The motor must reverse directions to drain. You don't indicate a problem with the circulation in the wash cycle. You can try a rinse only cycle to check this problem. It should fill and wash then after approximately 10 minutes it should pause and reverse the motor to drain. Listen for the motor. If the motor is washing but not reversing then the problem can be the motor or control and the control is the more likely of the two.

The motor can be checked if you have access to a volt/ohm meter and are comfortable using it. The 2nd image shows how to access the control and the 3rd image contains the wiring diagram for this dishwasher.

The motor drain winding can be checked from the control on the P10 red/black wire to th eP% gray wire. Image 3 will help with this. If the circuit is open then the motor needs to be replaced.

If the motor is nor reversing but the drain winding is okay then the control can be the source of the no drain problem.

I hope this information helps to resolve this problem. If other questions come up then submit another question with any additional details for further assistance with this problem.
