From the description you give you can not program any cycles or options.

If you can not change or select any cycle or option then likely the interface/console is the problem.

One thing to try is to access the ribbon that connects the main control to the console.

Remember to turn the power off first.

Access the ribbon and remove it. The image below may help you with this.

After removing the ribbon try reinserting it and see if there is any improvement.

If you have no trouble with this and there is no improvement then next replace the console.

It is color specific and is available with a model number from the following link: Sears PartsDirect .

I looked at the manual and the troubleshooting section does not give instructions on what to do if clean light is blinking. It blinks 7 times and then stops for a few seconds then starts blinking again.

If the "Clean" light is flashing then this is an indication of a problem with the water heat circuit.

The image below contains the instructions to enter and run the diagnostic test. This should clear the error so you can use the dishwasher.

Please understand if the root cause of the heating circuit failure is not repaired the problem will happen again.

I suggest you select and run the high temperature wash option with heated dry. During the cycle check a couple of times how how things are. You should see steam and the dishes at the end of the cycle should be almost to hot to touch.

Most likely the element or thermostat is at fault but it can be a control failure as well.

These parts must be check with a volt/ohm meter. A clamp meter is best for checking the heating amperes during the test. The heater should draw between 8-10 amps when on.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

Try the test and reply to me with any additional information for further assistance.

Thanks for the help James...I did get some help with this site and ended up ordering the part I think I need to fix it. Was also informed by the parts order person that they will send along some directions. Worse case, I will not be able to do it myself and will need to have a tech person make a service call.

To repair the door hinge assembly, you would need to shut off the breaker and water supply to the dishwasher and pull the dishwasher out to access the components. The dishwasher is normally secured under the counter by brackets that are screwed into the bottom of the counter above the dishwasher. If you can locate these brackets and remove the screws, then you should be able to pull the dishwasher out from under the counter. Once the dishwasher is pulled out, you can check the door hinge assembly for the broken component. The springs & linkage assembly are located on each side of the base along the bottom of the dishwasher. The assembly on your dishwasher should look similar to the one shown in the adjustment procedures shown below and in the images James provided in the link. It is likely that you have a broken door balance link cord or a disconnected/broken spring. You may need to just reconnect the components properly. NOTE : Be careful when working with the tension spring. The image below shows adjustment procedures for installing a custom door panel on a similar model. You do not need to adjust the door tension. Use the image and procedure for information on how your hinge assembly is attached.

If you have a broken component, you can order the part from the Sears PartsDirect website. You will need the complete model number to access the parts list diagram.

These tips may help you fix this problem yourself. If you are not completely confident that you can safely access the door hinge components, then I recommend calling a service technician to diagnose and repair the door failure.
