Q:

How do I remove the upper spry arm on my Kenmore dishwasher model 665.16791792?

A:

Both the middle and the top spray arms are held in with screws. The middle spray arm has a screw in the bottom that once removed the spray arm will come off. The top sprayer has two screws that hold it onto the feed tube and the tub. Please refer to the images below for assistance.

A:

Thank you for a quick response. I looked at the dishwasher where the top spray arm connects. There aren't any screws. I've attached a photograph of the disconnected spray arm as well.

Q:

kenmore dishwasher mod. # 665-16791792 does not drain completely all the time. sometimes it drains, sometimes it does not.

A:

Dishwashers are an important part of the modern kitchen and we need it to wok properly. I searched the archived expert post for this problem and the responses are very model specific. I did not find one for this model, but did find one that may give you an idea of the problem while you wait for the expert to review this model and respond. I attached that link below.

A:

That link for a previous answer that Barbara H. provided in the above response has the likely solution to this problem. It points out that you likely have a clog in the check valve assembly at the bottom of the dishwasher. You can shut off the circuit breaker for your dishwasher and remove the bottom front toe panel as described in that previous answer. This will give you access to that check valve assembly that is shown in the first image below. Position a shallow pan (baking pan) under that component and remove the drain line. The second image shows the check valve with the drain line removed. Pull the check valve off and clear it as shown in the third image.

This will likely fix the drain problem in your dishwasher. If you need more assistance, reply with additional details.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .
