The exact wiring diagram for that older dishwasher is available on a microfiche file. The image below shows that wiring diagram. That image is very difficult to read. I provided a readable diagram for a similar model beside that microfiche image. That readable diagram may be slightly different than your exact wiring diagram. You may be able to use that technical information for your dishwasher. NOTE: This information is intended for service technicians. Follow electrical safety guidelines when using that data. Shut off the house circuit breaker for the dishwasher before accessing internal components.

If you need more help, let us know.

Q:

How do I replace the rubber seal on my Kenmore dishwasher model 1675590?

A:

The exact model number that you provided does not appear to be valid. I found an older Kenmore dishwasher with model number 665.1677580. This is the closest model to the one that you provided. I based the following answer on this model. If you have a different model, resubmit your question with additional details and the full model number of your Kenmore dishwasher.

I assume that you are talking about the rubber door basket on this dishwasher. To remove the old gasket, you will need to peel the front part of the gasket up to reveal screws that secure it to the front of the tub. NOTE: Do not remove the bottom screw on each side at the same time or the tub may drop. Begin removing the upper screws until they are all removed. Remove the bottom screw from one side and then position that end of the new gasket in place. You will need to drive the screw through the gasket and then into the retainer and the tub. Repeat the process on the other side. Line the gasket up and insert the remaining screws to secure the new gasket.

This is not that easy of a process. If you are not completely confident that you can properly complete this installation, I recommend that you have a service technician repair the dishwasher. Here is link for the Sears Service website: Sears Home Services .

Nope Lyle, the number does end in 90, the number I gave you is the exact one printed in there. The seal I'm needing help with is on the main part of the dishwasher, not the door. It goes around the edge and I think it keeps the water from going onto the floor, which is what is happens when I run the dishwasher. I think it's glued in. I ordered the rubber thing from parts, and they recognized the model right away. They said it would be easy, I could do it myself, and a lot of people order them to install. If there is something on the door I'll need to do also to keep the water in then I haven't found out about that yet.
