From the description the unit does fill with water but all you hear is a hum from the circulation motor. If a Cancel/Drain cycle is selected does the unit drain all the water out? If the water is drained out will the unit fill and wash If the motor will run in wash but will not in rinse then I suspect a control problem. Something may be jamming the impeller. You can get into the sump to check for bones/metal tabs and such. The image below may be helpful to you. There was an issue where the unit would fill up and rinse but would stall in the rinse cycle running for a very long time. From the description you give the unit is not running at all after filling. I hope this helps. You can reply with any additional details for further assistance.

Jackie - Thanks - I'm sure it is the control console, but I wanted to get the actual key diagram so I can check it before I buy another part - I am very comfortable with doing the checks without calling a service person at this time.- Thanks Rich

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

Based on your symptom and details it sounds like a faulty console/touch panel providing the door is latching. When the door is latched there should be line voltage at the Tan wire in reference to Neutral. I added an image below showing how to test the touch panel. This information can also be found in the technical data sheet that is supplied with the dishwasher. The tech sheet is located inside the console on it could be located under the bottom front area of the tub/dishwasher.

I hope this is helpful. If I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post.

Thanks Joey. The tech sheet didn't provide the model number, if it was the right one I was only able to get one reading. Guess I will cough up the money and replace the console. Thanks, Rich

A:

Rich: The tech sheet I provided is the correct one to follow. The console is generally the one to fail causing your symptom; providing the door latch and switch is working correctly.

Joey, I checked the control panel off the dishwasher with only one circuit connecting - does it need to be installed with power off to get the proper readings? Thanks Rich

A:

Rich: The console/touch panel does not need to be installed to check the button operations. The flat ribbon connector will need to be disconnected from the control board in order to place the Ohm meter leads on the appropriate pins.
