The drain pump in that dishwasher is a separate component from the wash pump. I recommend that you check that chopper blade area as described in that previous answer that expert Joey S. provided. Here is a link for that previous answer: I have a sears dishwasher and its 10 years old. The actual model number is: 665.16514201. None of the wash cycles work, the machine just hums.. . If you find no problems in that chopper blade area, then you will probably need to replace that entire pump and motor assembly.

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

There could be a few reasons why the wash motor is humming instead of running. It could be a faulty motor, the chopper blade or wash impeller could be jammed or the wash motor is not getting the proper voltage.

The first thing to check is for an object stuck in the chopper blade assembly. I added an image below showing how to access the chopper blade assembly if you feel confident in doing so.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .
