Q:

Why is the top sprayer not turning 66516493300 66516492300 Kenmore Undercounter dishwasher

A:

Thank you for choosing Sears Parts Direct. I will be happy to help with your dishwasher. Upon researching model 66516493300; the sprayer turns from the water pressure. It could be the seal has worn out. The probe that goes inside the feed tube could be loose or not fitting properly. I linked a diagram of the parts to check. Number 9 is the probe and number 8 is the seal.

Thank you for choosing Sears. Have a great day.

Thank you David, but can you tell me if the 2 gray flaps on the tube #1, that the sprayer connects into, is supposed to be completely closed if the sprayer is not inserted in it. Both are remaining half open which I think would be a loss of water pressure? Would I need to purchase the part #1 or can you purchase new flaps?

Q:

My Kenmore Elite Dishwasher 665.16492300 does not fill with enough water. The float is not stuck. How do I fix it? Adding water from a bucket works for a cycle.

A:

Hey there, I see you are having problems with your dishwasher. I can understand your frustration. If you would like you may visit the sears home services website. I have attached the link below. I hope this helps.

The float is a backup for a timed fill. The fill time is controlled by the control.

The water level should be just 1/4 inch or so under the element.

It is rare for the control to fail by not providing enough time to fill correctly. I would suggest you first check the inlet screen on the water. Over time sediment can build up and restrict water flow through the valve.

If you suspect the fill valve is filling slow then there is a test you can try. The valve should fill approximately 2 quarts during the first 27 seconds of operation.

The fill valve 8531671 can be obtained from the following link: Sears PartsDirect .

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

Thank you for the response. I suspected it might be a filter/screen in the water input line but looked at the parts diagram and none is shown. I also called Sears parts and they could not identify the existence of a screen in the water input system. I presume the screen exists as you suggest but that it was incorrectly omitted from the parts list and diagram. Where in the dishwasher water fill system is the inlet screen located (between which two parts)? I do suspect a slow fill valve but do not know if the slow filling is beacuse of a plugged inlet line preventing water from getting to the valve or if it is in fact a slow fill valve. I have watched the dishwasher fill with the door open and the door closed switch artificially closed and the water comes into the machine very slowly. I am on travel and will measure the fill rate when I return.

The valve fills less than a half quart during the first 27 seconds. Does anyone know where the inlet screen on the water intake is located? I can't find the inlet screen on the water intake on the schematic or parts list.

Q:

Dishwasher stops during the cycle and does not drain. If I reset the control panel and cancel the cycle the water drains. When it stops, the SANI light blinks

If you are using the Sani-Rinse option and thie SANI light is blinking then this normally indicates that the temperature or time requirements for the sanitized cycle option were not met.

If this light flashes when the Sani-Rinse option is not being used then you could have a stuck button on the control (the Sani-Rinse button) that is causing the light to blink.

A stuck button will normally freeze up the control until the condition is corrected. There is a possibility that you have an intermittent stuck button or a problem with the electronic control board in the dishwasher.

If the draining problem occurred just once then you could have had some unusual circumstances that prevented the dishwasher from draining properly such as a clogged sink drain. Since the dishwasher drained by using the Cancel button on the keypad, you may not have a component failure related to the drain system. If the dishwasher fails to drain every time, you could have a bad electronic control board.

It will likely require a service technician to diagnose and repair these dishwasher problems based on your symptoms. Here is a link for the Sears Service website: Sears Home Services .

Thank you. Looks like it could have been a stuck button. The dishwasher is now working again and has done so for 7 cycles so far.
