Q:

Water left because didn't drain or cycles incomplete? 66516299402 Kenmore Elite Dishwasher

A:

Thank you for choosing SearsPartsDirect. I will be more than happy to assist you with your Kenmore dishwasher.

From the information you have provided above, I can understand the frustration of having your dishwasher malfunction, after researching model number 665.16299402. There is likely a problem in the drain system somewhere. I would suggest to first check the drain pump and also the drain hose to make sure there are no clogs or kinks in the hose preventing the water to exit properly. if everything looks clear there’s a good chance the pump will need replacing. The part number for the pump is 661658

I hope you found this information useful. Again thank you for choosing Sears, we appreciate your business, have a great day.

Q:

Kenmore Elite DIshwasher Stops

The expectation of the dishwasher completing its job at the end of the day without being monitored is more than reasonable. I searched here at Manage My Life and located similar questions from previous posts that may be helpful while you wait for the expert response. I attached three below. I hope this information helps!

From the description you give the main problem seems to be the door popping open mid cycle.

This problem is best solved by replacing the 8574157 door strike and 8193830 latch.

I hope this helps. Replacing the door strike and latch is a do-it-yourself project. Remember to turn the power to the dishwasher off first.

Once the door stops popping open the cycle should complete. You can reply with any additional details or questions for further assistance.

This dishwasher has 2 switches on the door latch assembly. If you did not replace both switches, then I recommend that you replace the second switch. You may be able to use the one that you took out from the other side if you just replaced one.

The image below shows a wiring diagram for this dishwasher in case you need it.

I assume that you shut off the circuit breaker when you replaced the door switch. This should have broken the door switch circuit and simulated the dishwasher door being opened. If the dishwasher did not start a cycle the first time you tried it after replacing the door switch then you could have a bad control board.

If the dishwasher did start that initial cycle but would not run a subsequent cycle, then I suspect that you still have a problem with the door switch (probably on the "line" side of the switch with the black/white and the tan wires).

If you did replace both door switches then you could still have a bad switch in the door latch assembly or you could have a bad control board.

I hope that these tips help. Reply with additional details if you need more help.
