Thanks for contacting ManageMyLife.com. I understand how frustrating it is having trouble with the detergent door not opening on the dishwasher. We are here to help. I suspect the spring is broken on the dishwasher detergent door. It may have unhook or broke. This is fixable. In the mean time you can place detergent on the bottom or the detergent compartment without a door. Just use the china light cycle, which is the main wash. However, to help you replace the detergent door spring, please respond back to this thread with the complete model number of the dishwasher.

Please feel free to let me know if you need further assistance. We are always here to help.

Thank you for using ManageMyLife.com.

Hanna, The manufacture does not sell the door spring by itself. The only way to get the spring is to purchase the complete dispenser assembly. The part number for the dispenser assembly is 8558128. I provide you a link below to order the part. Also, the image will help you replace the dispenser.

This normally indicates that a key is stuck on the control console. It is likely that you will need to replace the control console to fix this problem. You may be able to complete this repair yourself. You can order a new control console from [ www.searspartsdirect.com ]part number 8564546.The procedure for accessing and replacing the control console is shown in the image below. Be sure that you shut off the breaker to disconnect electrical power before accessing this internal component. If you are not completely confident that you can safely complete this repair, I recommend calling a service technician to fix the dishwasher.

If you replace the control console and have the same problem, you will also need to replace the electronic control board.

SAFETY NOTICE: Be sure to disconnect power to the appliance before performing any repairs. If you are not comfortable with doing any voltage checks that might be recommended, please contact your local service provider for repairs. Be aware that there could be sharp edges inside the appliance that could cause cuts or other injuries to yourself or others.

From what you’re describing I suspect the thermal fuse or touchpad control. The thermal fuse is clipped to the control board. If your new control did not come with a new thermal fuse you will need to order the thermal fuse separately (8193762). If the thermal fuse checks good, reads closed continuity on your ohmmeter, I recommend replacing the console touchpad assembly. Remember to disconnect power before attempting repairs & use extreme caution when checking voltage. Please see the image provided below for more details.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .
