A:

The image below will show how to access the filter and the sump so it can be cleaned out.

See the image below for help with this.

There is also a product called Dishwasher Magic found in the dish washing soap section of the local market. This is an excellent product for cleaning out the filters and sump of the dishwasher.

I hope this helps but reply with any additional details or questions about this problem and I'll try to help further.

Q:

How do I clean the wash motor on my Kenmore dishwasher model 665.16054400?

A:

You can clean the sump of your dish washer easily and save money. I have provided the instructions on how to access the chopper screen below. Your model will not have screws in the feed tube. It has clips on both sides that have to be pried over to release the feed tube. Clean all of the debris in the sump area and the screen. Also a plugged drain hose could cause the same issues. If you have the same problem with the dish washer you will need to clean the drain.

Q:

Does the water valve elbow fitting have threads on both ends or is one end a compression?

A:

Both ends of the elbow fitting are threaded, but one end is strictly for the compression fitting and the other end threads into the dishwasher inlet valve. You should not be able to put the elbow fitting on wrong because the threads are different and the size is a bit different. (See image below)
