I know that it can be very difficult to have your dishwasher stop working properly. From your description that the film will not come off I suspect the problem is mineral film.

Soap residue on a glass can be run under water and rubbed with your thumb to remove it. After the glass dries the film is gone.

Film that will not rinse off is usually from mineral deposits in the water.

One thing to try is to put some glasses in the dishwasher that have film and starting a rinse only cycle. After it fills then pause the dishwasher and add approximately 2-3 cups of vinegar directly to the water in the tub. The vinegar should remove any film and leave the glasses sparkling clean after the cycle.

Also next time you are at the grocery store check the dishwasher soap area for a product called "Dishwasher Magic." This will clean out all the mineral/film build up on the filters, screens and spray arm. This may help as well. I hope this helps. If you need further assistance, please reply to this thread. Thank you for using Manage My Life.

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

If the "Clean" light is on steady and not flashing then it should shut off when the door is closed or when any button is pushed. If the "Clean" light is not turning off then it could have a door switch failure, control board failure or possibly a faulty touch/control panel.

Now; if the "Clean" light is flashing 7 times and pausing briefly and then flashing 7 times again would indicate a possible heater fault. The control is not going to allow the dishwasher to operate until the control is reset and then the "Clean" light will begin flashing again until the failure has been resolved.

If a temperature rise in the water is not detected during the first 8 minutes of the beginning of the main wash, the dishwasher will shut down.

A fault will be indicated if:

  • A 2 degree increase in the water temperature is not obtained (inlet water temp greater than 90 degree) or
  • A 4 degree increase in the water temperature is not obtained (inlet water temp less than 90 degree).

Possible causes that could keep the water from properly heating:

  • Open in Heating Element circuit (heater, thermostat, or wiring)
  • Neutral side Door Switch not closing (check switch and door latch assembly) Note: Neutral side door switch only used for heater circuit.
  • Water not coming in or lack of water (check inlet valve circuit and water pressure)
  • Lack of water circulation (pump motor or restriction in circulation channels)
  • Siphoning of water during fill (check drain hose for proper installation)

Troubleshoot the dishwasher for possible cause. Perform repair accordingly. Reset the electronic control by initiating a diagnostic cycle.

The service diagnostic cycle is activated by pressing the following keys in this order: ------Heated Dry------Normal------Heated Dry-------Normal
