Question and Answers

Q:

Won't run and no light comes on ... Why. 66516014400 Kenmore Dishwasher

A:

Thank you for choosing SearsPartsDirect. I can certainly understand how frustrating it can be when your dishwasher is not working properly. The first thing you would want to check when there is no power is a tripped circuit breaker. Also the voltage on the unit itself.

The main parts that can go out on a dishwasher is the control board, thermal fuse, or faulty door switch,.

You will need a multimeter to do the proper tests on the unit.

The thermal fuse is located in the control panel and is measure with OHMs. If it is open replace, if it is closed then it is still good.

The electric supply for the dishwasher should be measure at 60hz with 120 volts. Anything less can be a wiring issue or power issue.

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

I added an image below of the wiring diagram. There should also be a tech sheet up under the front of the tub or inside the control panel too.

I hope this is helpful. If I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post.

Blinking lights can leave us feeling helpless. Anna provided some very good information that may help.

The model number that you provided seems to be slightly off. I recommend that you recheck that number. I checked a similar model 66516014400 for information. This could be caused by a heater circuit fault that would cause the clean light to blink 7 times, pause and repeat that sequence. If your dishwasher is displaying that code, you may be able to reset it using the advice in the previous answer provided in the above response.

If the root cause is not found, the condition will continue to repeat.

  • Causes may be an open heating element circuit. This would include the hater, thermostat and wiring.

  • A neutral side door switch. Check door latch assembly and switch.

  • Water not coming in or lack of water. This includes poor water circulation from the inlet valve, pump or circulation channels.

  • Siphoning of water during fill may also create this error. Check drain hose for proper installation. run a diagnostic cycle by pressing heated dry/ normal/heated dry/normal

I recommend having the dishwasher serviced. You can schedule a technician here: Sears Home Services .
