Question and Answers

Q:

washer will not drain. 66515862990 Kenmore Dishwasher

A:

Thanks for contacting ManageMyLife.com. I understand how frustrating it is having trouble with your dishwasher not working. We are here to help. Based on the symptom, I suspect a problem with the impeller inside the pump. The impeller may be broken or a build up inside the pump preventing it from turning. I provided a video that shows how to replace the impeller. I hope this helps.

The control lock or child lock is turned on and off by pressing and holding the "No Heat Dry" button. If the button is pressed and held for 3-5 seconds then the control lock should toggle on or off.

If the control doesn't respond then the problem might be a stuck or shorted keypad.

Give me a reply with if this works or not. If it doesn't work then there is one trick to try.

Let me know and I'll provide further assistance.

Hello Eve. You may be able to fix that problem by shutting off the house circuit breaker for the dishwasher to completely disconnect electrical power to that appliance. Leave the breaker off for 5 minutes and then reset it to restore power to the dishwasher. This will "re-boot" the electronic control board in the console of the dishwasher. Try to use that childlock feature and see if it will work. You may need to hold that Heat Dry button down firmly for more than 3 deliberate seconds. I know that you already indicated that you held it down for longer. Try it again and see if it works. If not, then you could have a problem with the control panel or the electronic control board. If the dishwasher works properly then you may be able to do without that feature. If you want to fix the dishwasher, then you may need to replace the control panel and/or the electronic control board. Let us know if we can help you further with this problem. (I posted a link for the owner's manual below this response in case you need that document).

From the description you give the wash impeller may be the problem is there is no water circulation even with the motor running. A simple test is to place similar cups in each corner of the upper and lower rack. Let the dishwasher fill up and start to wash for 1 minute and check how much water is is each cup. Other possible causes of the none circulation of water is the filters being clogged. The pump outlet has an o-ring seal and if the screws are loose water can push out there instead of the spray arm. The wash impeller is part number 675806 and can be obtained from the following link: Wash Impeller . The image below may be helpful to you. You can reply with additional questions for further assistance.
