Q:

Chopper removal/preplacement 66515835790 Kenmore Dishwasher

A:

Okay, nevermind. I got it. It's just a friction fit, and was stuck due to a lot of years of buildup of stuff. I soaked in with Thrust and after twenty minutes it slipped up and off and now I can see what really broke - it's the grey plastic part that I'm guessing is the impeller. It slips over and covers the motor shaft.

Q:

not draining 66515835790 Kenmore Dishwasher

A:

I know that it can be very frustrating to have issues with your dishwasher. If you have an air gap installed in your dishwasher drain line, I recommend checking it for a clog. Also check the drain hose from the tub to the sink drain or disposal for clog. Make sure that your sink or disposal is draining properly. If you find no problems with these issues, then you could have a clog or restriction in the drain check valve under the dishwasher tub. If you are able to shut off the breaker to the dishwasher and access this area, you may be able to disconnect the check valve. You may find a foreign object or clog in the check valve that is preventing the dishwasher from draining properly. You can also check in the sump area just inside the opening for the check valve. It is common for a clog or restriction to develop in this area that will prevent the dishwasher from draining properly. This video will show you how to access the internal parts: Dishwasher Drain. If you don't feel comfortable doing this yourself, please click on the link to schedule service: Sears Home Services. Click on "Get Started" and follow the directions, click on the red "NEXT" button to continue. I hope this helps. Please feel free to let me know if you need further assistance. Added Info: I jumpered the thermal fuse and obtained the same result. Also, it is not a heat problem..the motor is stone cold. And the sensing light is on.

Hi Rick,

Thank you for submitting a question to Manage My Life.

The model number you gave me is incorrect. Without your model number I am only able to give you general information. The model number should be located inside the loading door and will most likely begin with a 665, 465, or 587.

The electronic control can get stuck in the "Sales Demo" mode. This could occur at any time during the life of the dishwasher. The computer can randomly skip into this mode if the door is kept open for a prolonged period of time or after any power interruption.

CORRECTION: First press the Cancel/Drain button, then press the Quick Rinse button and allow cycle to run to completion.

This will remove the Sales Demo mode from the memory in the control. Press the desired cycle, options and start button to restart the dishwasher. This condition could occur at anytime during the life of the dishwasher.

This can also be caused by low water temperature.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

Here is a link that you may use to view the parts list diagram or to purchase any parts needed; Sears Parts Direct .

I hope this is helpful. If I may be of further assistance, please reply to this post. Be sure to include more details and a complete model number.
