Question and Answers

Q:

my kenmore dishwasher is leaking at the bottom of the door when it goes into the cycle.

A:

I can understand your desire to fix this leaking problem you're having with your dishwasher. There could be a couple of different reasons for this happening. I did locate a link that will discuss your situation in greater detail. Though this link discusses a different model number, the mechanics are likely going to be very similar. Keep in mind that an expert will be responding within the next two business days if not sooner and will likely offer you more information and instruction. I hope this link will help guide you as to what might be wrong with your dishwasher leaking and have a nice day.

I know that it can be very frustrating to have issues with your dishwasher. Leaks can sometimes be hard to diagnose when I am unable to see the dishwasher. Here are some tips that may help you with this problem:
  • Leaking out of the front door is normally caused by a wave action being created inside the dishwasher tub. The water will "slosh" over the front lip of the tub and leak out. The leading cause of this type of problem in your model of dishwasher is a loose pump outlet cover (see image below). I recommend that you remove the spray arm and check the cover. Tighten the screws on the top of this pump outlet cover if they are loose.
  • Check the spray arms for cracks or splits. This can also cause a wave action in the tub.
  • Make sure that the spray arms are rotating properly. Use care when loading the dishwasher. Avoid blocking spray arm rotation.
  • Make sure that the dishwasher is leveled properly (see link that Henry provided above)..

Q:

How do I install the actuator for my model 665.15798791 Kenmore dishwasher?

A:

This is an ambitious project for a do-it-yourselfer and even technicians have difficulty putting this dispenser together and patience will be needed but if you're confident and comfortable with your abilities then the instructions to replace the dispenser actuator are in the image below.

Read through the instructions once or twice to get an idea of what is needed to install the actuator.

It will take a try or two to get it correct but you should be able to change this.

Submit another question with any additional details for further assistance with this project.
