Question and Answers

Q:

Powder detergent doesn't dissolve. The dispenser is still full after a wash. 66515765691 Kenmore Undercounter dishwasher

A:

Thank you for choosing Sears Parts Direct. I will be more than happy to help with your dishwasher. Upon researching model 66515765691; the tablets are best to use for the dishwasher. The newer models are made to breakdown and use them easier than the powder detergent. Many times the powder detergent will clump up or clog up the dishwasher. The tablets will wash your dishes better and will not cause clumping or clogs.

I trust this information will help you, we appreciate your business thanks for choosing Sears.

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

There could be several possible failures preventing your dishwasher from operating. I would not be able to say with any certainty what part it may need. It may not even need a part to repair the dishwasher. The dishwasher may not be getting proper voltage supply preventing it from operating.

The first thing that should be checked is the power supply connections inside the electrical junction box under the front of the dishwasher. You will need to remove the lower access panels to access the electrical junction box. The black and white wires are attached to the power supply with plastic wire nuts. The wire nuts will need to be removed to check the connections. NOTE: Flip the house circuit breaker off dedicated for the dishwasher circuit before removing the wire nuts. This would also be the time to check and confirm the voltage supply with a voltage meter. I do not recommend measuring the voltage supply unless you have experience and feel safe and confident in doing so; otherwise I recommend calling a service technician to diagnose and repair your dishwasher. If the voltage supply is correct (120 volts) and the wire connections are Okay and not burnt, the next step is to check the door switches. If one of the two door switches is not closing and completing the voltage path or the neutral path, the dishwasher is not going to operate. When the door is latched both door switches must close. The voltage can be tested across the Tan and White wires on the door switches when both door switches are closed. It must measure 120 volts or one of the two door switches is faulty or not closing.

Check the things I have covered here and if I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .
