This type of problem is usually caused by a bad soil sensing pressure switch. You can prevent this drain sequence by pulling a wire off of the pressure switch (shown as Key 51 in the image below). The dishwasher will work normally with this wire pulled off. It will not conduct a purge and fill that it normally would if the soil sensing pressure switch detected excessive soil in the wash water. This will not significantly affect the wash performance.

Shut off the circuit breaker to the dishwasher before removing the bottom front service panel to access this component. Remove one wire from the pressure switch. Tape the end of the wire that you pull off so that it won't short against the metal of the cabinet.

NOTE: Replacing the pressure switch (part 3380871) would probably fix this problem if you prefer that option. You can order that part from the Sears PartsDirect website.

This information should help you resolve this dishwasher problem yourself. If you need more assistance, reply with additional details.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .
