Thank you for your question on the washability with your dishwasher and I am sorry that is not cleaning the dishes like it use too.

I am going to need you to try a couple of things to make sure we are getting the things we need to have the dishwasher working properly.

1. Please start the dishwasher with out any dishes in it and tell me after the detergent cup opens up, how much water is in the bottom of the tub when you stop the dishwasher and open the door. You can use the bottom heating element as a reference point.

2. Can you tell me what the temperature of the water is at the sink when you run the dishwasher to see how hot the water is? You can use a candy or meat thermometer to check the water temperature.

3. Do you have a water softener and is it working properly.

4. Is your detergent fresh and are you using jet dry in the dispenser and is it dispensing.

We were having a real problem all of a sudden and it is because the new detergents cannot have an phosphates in them anymore.

So we had to resort to using Finish Quantum and use Lemi Shine powder with the detergent and Lemi shine rinse aid. This solved our problem but it cost more to wash dishes now.

It took a couple of weeks for all the dishes and the dishwasher to get the calcium build to go away and the dishes to look clean.

Let me now what you find out and we can continue if those things check to be okay and that it could be a mechanical problem with the dishwasher.

This has become a very common problem. Your dishwasher is not broken....don't call a repairman or buy a new machine! The white film is probably hard water deposits. This happens because many state governments have banned phosphate as an ingredient in detergent. So detergents don't work as well as before. Here's a solution that's all natural and contains no phosphate. www.CitriClean.net

Thank you Jody for your information on the hard water deposits on dishes. There are a number of products on the market similar to the product you are promoting. I happen to like a product called Lemi-Shine which is also a citric acid based product. If your CitriClean is in a retail market I would try it to see how it works. Sam A.

Hi Sam - We don't have any retail accounts yet. So far, retailers have balked at our green packaging so none have been willing to carry it. And we use food-grade dehydrated orange peels as a key ingredient. Even in Florida, it's difficult to buy in small quantities. So we have some hard decisions to make!

I Found the cause. One spot underneath the impeller the plastic had worn paper thin and when I held it up to the light I could see several specks of light through it. So I need a new pump base part #3379336. The parts guy said these are rarely sold. A year or so ago It got some broken glass pieces in it and I had to replace the impeller at that time so that may have been the cause of the extra wear

Sometimes the 2nd or 3rd time is the charm. There is no history or problems with the 8274950 kit.

The only other thing to look at is the condition of the motor shaft. If it is rough then try a little fine sandpaper to smooth the shaft. In extreme cases the motor may have to be replaced.

Check the shaft and let me know how it goes.

Q:

Why does my Kenmore dishwasher, model number 66515712000 have blinking "Washing" light? What can be the problem?

A:

In reference to your Kenmore dishwasher, model number 665.15712000:

If the line voltage is normal and just a single indicator light is blinking, the cause is usually a stuck or shorted keypad on the active overlay, not the control. A resistance check of the active overlay should be made. If the overlay checks out ok a full control panel replacement will be needed.

Order part number 8530928-Electronic Control Call 1-800-469-4663 to check for availability and/or substitutions.

I was able to get the dishwasher working normally by turning off the breaker feeding the dishwasher and then removing the control module located behind the pushbuttons. I re-seated all the wires and ribbon cable and this seemed to reset the unit and it has been working normally for several weeks now
