Question and Answers

Q:

No lights on the dishwasher front panel 66513943K010

A:

Thank you for choosing Searspartsdirect.com and being a valued member. I can certainly assist you.

Check to see if the unit is getting the right amount of volts from the power cord.

I have attached the instructions to test the keypad. You may need to replace your control board.

FUSE SERVICE CHECK:
F8 = Motor Fuse
F9 = Small/Triac Load Fuse
Check operation of loads during Service Diagnostics
Cycle.
 - If any of the triac loads work, then F8 Fuse is OK.
If all triac loads fail to work, then F8 Fuse could be
 open. See Resistance Check.
 - If Wash Motor does not work, then F9 Fuse could
 be open.
FUSE RESISTANCE CHECK:
1. Unplug dishwasher or disconnect power.
2. Measure resistance of fuse F8 and/or F9. Fuses
are on bottom of control board, but can be
 checked from top side.
 - If < 3 ohms, then fuse OK.
 - If > 3 ohms, then replace control, inspect, and
check resistance of all loads on fuse. If any
loads are open, shorted, or have evidence of
overheating or pinched wires, then replace
 them.

SERVICE DIAGNOSTICS NOTES
1 To invoke the Diagnostics Cycle, perform the
following while in standby:
Press any 3 keys in the sequence 1-2-3-1-2-3-
1-2-3 with no more than 1 second between keys.
The Service Diagnostics Cycle will start when the
 door is closed.
To rapid advance 1 interval at a time, press the
Start/Resume key. Rapid advancing may skip
sensor checks as some checks require 2
 complete intervals.
NOTE:
While in the Diagnostic Cycle, the Start/
Resume feature is turned off (for example, Auto
Resume after door interrupts) and the Start/Resume
key becomes an interval advance key.
Invoking Service Diagnostics clears all status
and last run information from memory and
restores defaults. It also forces the next cycle to
 be a sensor calibration cycle.
Last run cycles and options returned to default
(Normal cycle with Heated Dry option).
Last run delay returns to the lowest delay
 increment.

If diagnostics do not work then you will need to replace the control board.

Q:

assembly of top rack adjusters and positioners W10195840

A:

Thank you for being Sears’ valued member and for contacting SearsPartsDirect.com with your question about parts W10195840 and W10195839. I am so sorry you are having difficulty installing them. We will be happy to help you with this but will need some additional information.

The parts you are inquiring about are used in dozens of dishwashers. Since they may not be installed the same on all of the models, we will need the model of your dishwasher to research how the parts are installed.
On some models the adjuster assemblies have been substituted with a kit. We will need the model number of your dishwasher to determine if your model is one of those.

Please resubmit your question with the model number of the dishwasher included and we will be happy to research this for you further. Thank you for choosing Sears, we appreciate your business.

Thank you for choosing Sears Parts Direct. I can certainly assist you in locating the instructions to reset the panel on your dishwasher. I did look into the model number you have provided, and I have found information to assist you.

The main control board must be paired with the new User Interface when either is replaced. The pairing occurs at power start up. If erratic symptoms appear, remove power to the unit. Wait for 30 seconds and reconnect power to allow pairing to occur. The unit should operate normally.

Thank you for your question. From the description you give I suspect the thermal fuse has blown.

The thermal fuse will kill all power to the dishwasher. It is located in the console area and does make a great do-it-yourself if you'd like to save some money.

You can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: www.searshomeservices.com

If you have a few tools and are comfortable with do-it-yourself then the images below may appeal to you.

Remember to turn the power off first. Click here to see repair video from you tube.

I hope this helps. If you have more questions please reply to this post.

Thank you for choosing Manage My Life.

Q:

Kenmore Elite dishwasher does not go through dryingg cycle. 66513943K010

A:

Thank You for choosing Sears PartsDirect.com. I regret to hear that you are having issues with your dishwasher and do understand your frustration. Glad to help out. Im looking at your model numbero 66513943K010 and you will need to remove the front lower access panel to access the water inlet valve. Turn the hot water supply off to the dishwasher. Squeeze the hose clamp securing the rubber hose to the water inlet valve and slide it up the hose. Pull the rubber hose off. Pull the wire harness connector from the water inlet valve. Loosen and disconnect the water supply fitting connecting to the water inlet valve. Remove the screw securing the water inlet valve to the frame and remove the valve. Remove the brass fitting from the old water inlet valve and wrap some Teflon tape around the male threads and re-install the brass fitting into the new water inlet valve. Reverse the procedure to install the new water inlet valve. We do not have a video showing how to remove and replace the water inlet valve. You should not have any problems in removing and replacing the water inlet valve. If you have further questions please resubmit your question for further information.

Q:

Dishwasher Model #66513943K010 won't complete rinse or dry cycles Dishwasher Model #66513943K010

A:

Gave up waiting for any reply from Sears (none, even as of 10 days later). Instead, I ordered the Electronic Control Board, Dispenser Assembly (because the cycle stopped before rinsing), and Thermal Control Switch. I replaced all three components myself in about 20 minutes, and the dishwasher now works fine. No repair person called or needed. No idea which part (or parts) were bad, but everything functions fine now.
