Question and Answers

Q:

the start/resume button does not work or light up when pushed 66513883K800 Kenmore Dishwasher

A:

Thank you for choosing Sears, I will be more than happy to assist you with your Kenmore dishwasher.

With the information you provided, I was able to locate information on this unit. If your dishwasher is running through all the cycles correctly and all other buttons working properly. It seems to me that you will need to replace the control panel on the dishwasher. If the cycles don’t run properly it will be the board. Another part to check is the door switch. A faulty door switch can cause the unit not to start as well.

I hope you found this information helpful. Thank you for choosing Sears Parts Direct. We appreciate your business. Have a nice day.

How can I determine, diagnose, if it is the switch for the door, or the control panel. All the buttons light up except the start button, the dishwasher won't work or start to wash.

Thank you for your help. Can you clarify - what is the "control"? As in the whole main control board or is there something else? Can you confirm how to enter the service diagnostic cycle? Finally, have you ever worked on this dishwasher? Would it be easier to access the diverter by removing the dishwasher and turning it over? It looks like you kind of disassemble everything to access the diverter but maybe I'm over thinking it?! Thanks so much!

You can run the diagnostic test cycle that is shown in the first image below. A component problem in the dishwasher should generate an error code in that diagnostic test cycle. The third image below shows the error codes for this model.

If the dishwasher does not indicate any problems during that diagnostic test cycle, then you could have a problem with the water fill level. The second image below shows the level that the dishwasher should fill up to. This dishwasher does not use much water since it is an HE (High Efficiency) model. The proper water level is crucial to the proper operation of this dishwasher. You can check that water level by starting a cycle and then cracking open the door to stop the dishwasher as soon as the filling stops. Open the door fully and check the level on the water at that filter shown in the second image below. If the water is below that mark, then you will need to check the water pressure and flow through that fill line. You can use the information in the installation guide to access that water line if necessary. Here is a link for the installation guide: Installation Instructions . Be sure that you shut off the house circuit breaker for the dishwasher before accessing internal components.

These tips may help you with this dishwasher problem. If you need more assistance, reply with additional details.

If you get to the point where you need to have a service technician diagnose and repair this dishwasher failure, you can schedule service through this link: Sears Home Services .

I click on these images in either Google Chrome or Internet explorer and in both browsers, the images are too small to view. I enlarge them (using "zoom" function in the browser) and they become sooo fuzzy I can't read them. It would appear to be low resolution images... Can someone email me the images? My symptom is that my dishwasher (66513883k800) wont heat water. I think it will dry the dishes though but I'm running it right now to verify.
