Question and Answers

Q:

kenmore elite diswasher panel replaced now no buttons work

A:

When everything is dead and there are no lights or display, then the most likely reason is a blown thermal fuse. Check your water temperature. Make sure that it is around 120 degrees (not significantly higher). Check the vent assembly to make sure that it is not clogged or stuck shut. A stuck contact on the control board that controls the heater could cause the bi-metal fuse to blow

Make sure the power is turned on. Check the wall switch and the dishwasher junction box for a loose connection. Be careful doing this.

The thermal fuse is located in the console the

A:

Filmy dishes seem to have been a problem since we started using dishwashers. I see that there was a previous similar question. I attached the post from that expert below. I also attached the owner's manual for your dishwasher which has some good troubleshooting. Hope this helps!

Leaving a soap film is usually caused by a poor drain or a bad check valve allowing soapy water back into the tub.

The image below will show you have to get into the sump of the dishwasher to check the filters and the check valve.
