Q:

clean light blinks 7 times, stays locked 66513819K601 Kenmore Dishwasher

A:

Thanks for the inquiry and for being a valued member.

I am sorry to hear of the issue you’re having with the flashing clean light on the dishwasher. I know how frustrating that is. There are several components that can cause this error to occur.

The clean light flashing fault code indicates that the control board did not detect a 2 degree F increase in the water temperature if the initial inlet water temperature was greater than 90 degrees. It will also trip if a 4 degree increase is not detected when initial inlet water temperature is less than 90 degrees.

Another factor to this error is if the door switch is not making contact properly. This can be caused by a faulty or sloppy door latch, or a defective door switch. We would recommend unplugging the dishwasher from power and measure the resistance of the door switch contacts while checking mechanical operation of the latch assembly. Confirm that the switches are not loose from the assembly. Check the strike plate and the door closure as well. I believe this issue more closely ties in with your symptom rather than a heating issue above.

You can reset the control by running the diagnostic test cycle. Start this cycle by pressing the following buttons in this order: HEATED DRY, NORMAL WASH, HEATED DRY, NORMAL WASH. The buttons must be pushed within 5 seconds. After pushing these buttons, all the control lights will turn on and then the dishwasher will complete a short test cycle. After the test cycle, the control will be reset. If the door is currently locked, this process should help you release the door so that the door latch assembly can be checked.

If you would feel more confident have a Sears Home Service technician help assist with the diagnosis/repair, you can call 1-800-469-4663, or click here to be directed to the page to set up service.

I hope this helps and thanks for using SearsPartsDirect.com. We appreciate your business.
