Q:

soap not dissolving in dishwasher 665.13789k600 665.13789k600

A:

Thank you for your inquiry on your Kenmore Dishwasher, Model: 665.13789K600. From reviewing the details on your model, most dishwasher detergents will not dissolve unless the water temperature is at least 135 degrees. As far as the water not getting hot, we use the one element to dry and heat the water. That means the control or console is most likely the cause of the problem. If you can select the high temperature cycle then the control is most likely the bad part. If you cannot select High Temp or the LED light doesn't light up then it may be a console problem.

Safety Warning: Before beginning the repair, disconnect the direct power supply to the dishwasher to prevent the risk of injury or any electrical shock.

If you don’t feel comfortable or confident in this repair, then you can have it repaired at home by a sears technician. I have the included a link to the website: Sears Home Services or call 1-800-469-4663.

I hope this answered your question. Thank you for contacting SearsPartsDirect.com, and have yourself a wonderful day.

Q:

My dishwasher is not drying the dishes, is this issue probably the heating element? If so, how do you replace it and how much is the part? Model #66513789K600 66513789K600 Kenmore Elite Dishwasher

A:

I know that it can be very frustrating to have issues with your dishwasher.

  • For best drying results, the incoming water temperature should be 120 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • To check the water temperature coming into the dishwasher:
  • Turn on the hot water faucet nearest to the dishwasher for a couple of minutes to clear any cold water from the pipes.
  • It is very important that Rinse Aid be used for the best drying performance and to use the heat dry option. Rinse aid greatly improves drying and reduces water spots and filming. Water "sheets" off dishes rather than forming water droplets that cling and leave spots.
  • Use rinse aid with the heat dry option for best drying results.
  • If rinse aid is used, check for and empty rinse aid dispenser. The indicator or fuel gauge will be dark when full and will be clear when empty.
  • If using rinse aid and still getting poor drying results, increase the amount of rinse aid that is dispensed by increasing the dial setting, to a higher number. The dial is located under the Rinse Aid filler cap.
  • Dishes not dry - Use the heated dry and/or air dry option with rinse aid for best drying performance.
  • Water pooling on dishes - Place lighter items on top, so wash action does not turn them over.

If this is not the issues then it is either a problem with the heating element or the control board. The image below will provide the circuit diagram for the heating element. I would suggest that you test it before you replace it. If you don't feel comfortable doing this yourself, please click on this link to schedule service: Sears Home Services.
