Question and Answers

Q:

DISHWASHER start button flashes 3 times and won't start a cycle

A:

Thank you for your question. Flashing lights and no start would be confusing. When the start button flashes three times, it indicates one of the following;

  • Door switch stuck
  • Door was not opened between cycles
  • Door switch contacts are stuck closed.

Try the following; open and close door, then press Start/Resume key. If that fails, unplug dishwasher or disconnect power, then restore power and try to start dishwasher.  If that fails, disconnect power to the dishwasher and if you have an Ohm meter, measure the resistance of the door switch contacts, while checking mechanical operation of door latch assembly. Resistance should show 0 resistance (closed continuity).  This video will demonstrate how to test. If the door switch needs replacement, it is part #W10134019.  If the entire door latch assembly needs replacement, that is part #W10077360.  If replacement is necessary, this video will help. If further help is needed, please reply.  Thank you for using Manage My Life.

A:

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

Make sure the dishwasher is filling with enough water or the pump will not have much pressure due to the lack of water.

I added a YouTube video showing the procedure of removing the wash motor . Check the condition of the wash impeller once the wash motor has been removed.

I hope this is helpful. If I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post.
