Question and Answers

Q:

I own dishwasher model # 66513769K601 where black insulation is falling out of the door 66513769K601 Kenmore Elite Dishwasher

A:

Thanks for using SearsPartsDirect.com, and for being a valued member.

You are correct. The inner door panel, part number W10056050, will include the mastic which is what you’ve described as the black insulation. The mastic is only being sold with the inner door assembly, so part number W10056050 would be the part to order.

I hope this helps, and thanks for using SearsPartsDirect.com. We appreciate your business.

Most spray arms have a loose fit and from the description you give I suspect the spray arm is okay.

What is unusual about your complaint is that you say the dishes in the lower rack have a white film but you don't mention the top rack. White film is most likely soap residue but it is unusual for this to only affect the lower rack and not the upper rack as well.

First I suggest you confirm the film is soap and not mineral residue. Take a glass with the film and run it under some water from the faucet. Rub the film with your thumb and then dry the glass. Soap will rinse off. If you rinse the glass and the film is still there when dry then you most likely have a mineral film.

To check circulation place a small cup in each corner of the upper and lower rack. Run a cycle and after a couple of minutes check the amount of water in each cup. They should all have a similar amount.

Soap residue can be caused by a poor drain or a faulty check valve allowing soapy water back into the tub.

The images below may help is you wish to check the filters and check valve.

I hope this information is helpful to you but it there are additional details I may be able to assist you further.

Q:

Why did the detergent door of my Kenmore Elite dishwasher warp?

A:

This is not a known issue for this model of dishwasher. The only thing you can do is replace the dispenser assembly & be careful on loading.

Well --- my details got edited it would seem as there was no metal that came in contact with the door. The metal was in the rack above where the door opens. So the question is --- since the manual does not say not to put metal there --- how far from that corner of the rack am I to keep metal parts? Calling kenmore directly is useless as all they want to do is send out a tech. Thinking seriously in never purchasing another kenmore.
