Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

The wash motor impeller or chopper blade is likely jammed causing the wash motor to hum instead of running and circulating water through the spray arms. It's draining because it has a separate motor for the drain pump.

The chopper blade and wash impeller will need to be accessed to see if something has it jammed. Remove the inlet cover and chopper to access the wash impeller. Once you have access to the wash impeller; see if you can spin it with your fingers. If it spins freely then there could be a loose wire connection on the motor capacitor or a faulty wash motor.

I added some images below to reference. It will have instructions on how to access the chopper screen/blade and wash motor. I hope this is helpful. If I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post.

NOTE: Disconnect the power supply from the dishwasher before servicing. If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

A:

Doug: The chopper blade is linked to the wash impeller. When the wash impeller is spinning it will also spin the chopper blade. If you can spin the chopper blade then it should be spinning the wash impeller. The instructions for removing the wash motor are provided in the previous answer.
