Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

The Electronic Control is programmed to stop running and not allow any further cycles if it detects a water heating problem (no temperature increase detected in heated Main Wash on 3 consecutive cycles). The Control will blink/flash the Clean LED 7 times repeatedly and disables the Start/Resume key until cleared.

Starting and running the diagnostics test will clear the control and stop the flashing Clean LED and allow it to operate again. The water heating problem must be fixed or the control will flash the Clean LED and stop running again.

If it stops and flashes again after running the diagnostic test, it could have one of the following failures:

  • Heater circuit problem:

  1. Faulty heating element.
  2.  Open connection or component in the heater circuit.
  3. Faulty control board.
To clear the flashing Clean light and reset the control; run the diagnostic test.

Press the following key presses in less than 6 seconds while in standby: Heated Dry - Normal - Heated Dry - Normal and then let the dishwasher run for 5 minutes and then press the Cancel/Drain button and let it time out.

If the "Clean" light flashes again, then the heating element and the heating element circuit will need to be checked. If the heater and the high limit thermostat is Okay and heating element is not coming on, the control board is likely faulty.

I hope this is helpful. If I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post.

Ok, I did as you instructed. The flashing clean light went off, however when we press the normal wash, the dishwasher runs but now water is coming in the dishwasher? What's up? Jerrold

A:

Jerrold; I must assume you meant to say "the dishwasher runs but no water is coming in the dishwasher" and not "the dishwasher runs but now water is coming in". If water is not entering the dishwasher then it will not be able to heat the water or sense water temperature and it would cause the clean light to begin flashing. In the front corner of the tub is a water level safety float. Make sure the float is not stuck in the up position. If the float is down, then you will need to check the float switch located under the tub and float and you will need to check the water inlet valve for the correct voltage supply when it should be filling with water.

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

Based on your symptom and details it sounds like it could have a short circuit(s) in the keypad or in the control's input lines that read the keys. It could also have a faulty door switch too. Check the door switch with the tan wire connected to it for continuity when the door is latched. NOTE: Disconnect the power supply from the dishwasher before accessing and testing the key pad and door switch.

In order to diagnose which one is faulty; the key pad operation can be tested with an Ohm meter using the chart I added in the image below. Check each button function and if it passes; replace the control board.

I hope this is helpful. If I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post.
