From the description you give I suspect the problem is a bad bi-metal/thermal fuse. If there is power but there are no lights and nothing runs then the thermal fuse/bi-metal has likely gone bad. The bi-metal is located in the console area and can be a good do-it-yourself project. The image below may be helpful to you. Remember to turn the power to the dishwasher off first. I hope this helps. You can reply with any additional details for further assistance.

I can see how this issues would be very difficult for you, especially when you need the dishwasher. This problem can be causing by several difficult components. For example if the chopper blade is fracture, or the sum pump valve is open, etc. Below I have included two images. The first is the components that will cause the issue, these are the ones you will want to check, and the other is a diagnostic test for the dishwasher. I would suggest that you run the diagnostic test first, because it will also recalibrate the dishwasher. If it will run without the noise, then it should be okay. If not, then there is a components that needs to be replaced. If you need further assistance, please reply to this thread. Thank you for using Manage My Life.
