Just some more information on the dishwasher. It is a Kenmore and I believe the model # is W10040660. Basically, it never moves on from the WASHING cycle, as the light never moves on to drying, clean or sanitized, it just stays on washing forever! Thanks!~

Monitoring the dishwasher to be able to shut it off would become an issue.

The water has to reach a specific temperature for the dishwasher to proceed through the cycle and on to the next. There is a pause that normally occurs as the water heats to the correct temperature.

The cycle time may be longer depending on the temperature of the water entering the dishwasher.

The most normal cause of this problem is the water heating circuit is bad. If the element does not heat the water, then the dishwasher will not be able to advance.

Before looking at parts failure, try adjusting your hot water heater if your hot water temperature is too low. You can check the temperature of the water supplied to the dishwasher by running the hot tap at your kitchen sink for one minute. Fill a glass with the hot water and check the temperature. It should be around 120 degrees. If it is significantly lower than that, you can adjust the hot water heater to raise the temperature.

It may be a faulty touch panel/control panel or possibly a faulty electronic control board. There are diagnostic tests that can be run on the dishwasher. I would need a complete model number to provide the information needed. The number provided, W10040660, does not appear to be a valid model number. Check inside the door of the dishwasher for a tag. It should have the complete model listed there.

If you decide you would prefer to have a technician make the diagnosis and repairs, you can schedule a Sears technician here; Sears Home Services .

Please reply with an updated model number if further help is needed. Thank you for using Manage My Life.

Hi, model is 665.13473K902, and the serial number is F03501323. I found the "Service Diagnostics Cycle Notes", and am currently running a Diagnostics Cycle (after hitting "Heated Dry"-"Normal"-"Heated Dry"-"Normal" within 6 seconds. Not sure if it will help, as the instructions are difficult to follow / understand...

Thank you for the updated model number. I checked this model and the diagnostics are indeed difficult to read. Basically, once the diagnostic is launched it runs through the cycles as listed and displays when each is completed successfully. When a fault is detected, that is the area or component that needs further testing. I attached images with bigger, hopefully easier to read diagnostic explanations. I would recommend a technician perform any further testing. If the water temperature entering the washer is at least 120 degrees, I still suspect this is a water heating circuit problem and would require a qualified technician to make repairs. You can schedule a technician at the link above. I hope this additional information helps with the diagnostic.
