Q:

Washer will not drain during cycle, only when cancel button is hit. 66513442k900

A:

Thank You for choosing Sears PartsDirect.com and being a valued member. It is unfortunate to hear that you are having issues with your dishwasher and I do understand your frustration. Glad to help out. I'm looking at your model number 66513442k900 and most likely there is a restriction or clog in the drain system. First, I recommend checking your drain hose. The drain hose has a check valve item 15 near the pump outlet that often becomes blocked.  A quick test of whether the problem is in the drain line or is internal to the dishwasher is to disconnect the drain at the pump outlet and connect a rubber hose. Allow the dishwasher to conduct a normal fill and then turn it to pump out. Hold the hose in the sink. Observe the stream of water from the hose and listen for the water valve to come on for the next fill. If the tub is not completely drained before the valve comes on for the next fill, you will know that there is a problem internal to the dishwasher. Otherwise the drain problem is isolated to your drain line downstream from the drain pump. Here is a link that may help with additional troubleshooting. Just click the blue link above to be taken to the page. I trust this information will help you.

Thank you for choosing Sears PartsDirect.com.

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

I added a video showing the procedure of replacing the thermal fuse . NOTE: Be sure to disconnect the power supply to the dishwasher before servicing.

I hope this is helpful. If I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post.

My sons and I managed to replace the thermal fuse which thankfully worked. Our dishwasher has been saved. I would recommend removing/replacing the thermal fuse first without cutting wires as indicated. The wires alone may be fine as in our situation. Many thanks for all the advice.

A:

Terri: There is a reason why they send a new little wire harness. If you do not install the new harness it could cause the thermal fuse to fail prematurely. If the spade connectors on the original harness become a loose fit on the new thermal fuse it can create resistance which could cause the new thermal fuse to fail.
