That flashing light indicates that you have a stuck key on that control panel. Replacing that control panel will normally fix this problem. You can order that part from the Sears PartsDirect website. Your model number indicates that you have the Bisque color of the dishwasher. The part number for that color of control panel is W10083052.

Shut off the house circuit breaker before accessing internal components and replacing that control panel. The basic procedure for replacing that control panel is shown in the image below.

This information should help you fix this failure on your own. If you need more help, reply with additional details. (There are rare instances where the electronic control board will also need to be replaced.)

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

The slime build up is a combination of iron and soap. After a long period of time, your dishwasher will accumulate this around the filter and gaskets. The safest method of cleaning this is white distilled vinegar.

  • Clear the dishwasher of any dishes
  • One cup of vinegar in a sturdy glass bowl
  • Place glass bowl on the top of the bottom rack
  • Do not use detergent
  • Select a normal cycle

The vinegar will break down the left over iron components and it will allow the detergent to break down faster and more efficiently.

Dishwasher soap is very high in concentrate and a little goes a long way. Although the instructions advise to fill the soap bin, the dishwasher will actually clean completely fine with a tea spoon size of detergent. The less soap you use the less build up you will have in the future. Remember, it is the heat and pressure of the water that cleans the dishes. The detergent is just an added sanitizing agent.
