Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

Without the complete model number I can't be certain which model you have. You mentioned a fault code (E1) but according to dryer model 110.66002010 it should display a letter "F" and number following the letter and then another letter and number. The fault code "F3/E1" indicates the exhaust thermistor is open. A faulty exhaust thermistor can affect the operating temperatures and cause it to display "F3/E1" fault code. The exhaust thermistor is located on the blower housing exhaust duct. It can be disconnected and tested for resistance with an Ohm meter. At room temperature, the thermistor should measure approximately 8.5-10.5K Ohms of resistance. To access the exhaust thermistor remove the front lower access panel. Pry the top of the access panel out to remove the panel.

If you are using the automatic dry cycles, be sure to have full load in the dryer or it could shut off before the clothes are fully dried. If the clothes do not make contact across the two moisture sensor strips located inside the drum behind the lint filter intake, the control will think the clothes are dry and will shut off.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

I understand your concern. I'm attaching the specs from each furnace. The main difference will be the size (btu rating). The 071 is 66,000 btu's and the 091 is 88,000 btu's. I hope this will help you. Thank you for using Manage My Life.
