Hi Sherban,

Thank you for submitting a question to Manage My Life.

I am sorry you are having problems with your washer.

From you description you could have a bad pressure switch, wiring issue, or bad timer. The diagnosis of this issue will require the use of an ohm/volt meter and you will have to perform ohm checks and/or live voltage checks. If you have an ohm/volt meter and are confident in your technical abilities, please reply below and I will be happy to give you the checks.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

Here is a link that you may use to view the parts list diagram and for parts purchases; Sears Parts Direct .

If I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post.

Thanks again for using Manage My Life.

Hi Landell, Thank you for response. I am very at ease with trouble shooting electrical circuits. However I am not sure how the washer is supposed to function. All the measurements in the technical sheet I found inside the cabinet measured OK. On a website I found an additional test: measurement. Voltage between C6.5 and C10.5. If 120VAC it means the speed controller is bad if 0VAC it means that timer is bad. The voltage to be measured 3 minutes after setting the timer on Heavy Load. I measured 120VAC. Based on that the controller would be bad. I think that after 3 minutes the controller should provide common for the timer to start. I am not sure, just guessing.

I've bought a speed controller from RepairClinic.com. They are an excellent organization located in Michigan. It fixed the problem. They also have available the Service Manual for Tumble Action Washers with AC Drive Motor - Electrolux 5995369211. The manual has very comprehensive troubleshooting chart and disassemble instructions. The diagnostic voltage between C6.5 and C10.5 proved essential because otherwise all the measurements in the tech sheets were OK. Everybody have a great day.
