A:

I understand how important it is for your water dispenser to not be leaking water since this can cause some water damage and I will be happy to be of some help. While you are waiting for an expert answer, I did manage to find a link that will provide you with more information about your problem: http://www.managemylife.com/mmh/questions/111914-does-water-dispenser-drip. There is no way to turn the water off in the refrigerator. To stop the water from running you will have to turn off the valve on the incoming line from the house plumbing. This will stop the icemaker from working. Be sure to lift the sensing arm on the icemaker to prevent it from trying to make ice without water.

To correct the problem you will have to replace the water valve on the back of the refrigerator cabinet. The water line from the house attaches to the water valve.

The part number of the water valve is 2188542, and the price is $65.95. You can order the water valve at [www.partsdirect.com?sid=MMLxexpertxmerch].
