Question and Answers

Q:

What next? I replaced control panel for Kenmore Elite Dishwasher. 63016309400 Kenmore Elite Dishwasher

A:

Thank you for choosing SearsPartsDirect.com. I will be more then happy to assist you.

It sounds like the door switch might not be making a proper contact. Try to push on the top of the door(bye the handle) and start a load.

If it starts let it go for a min and then let go of the door. If the washer stops then the door switch is the main issue.

Hope this information has help you. If you are not comfortable doing this repair you can Click Here to schedule a technician or call toll free 1-800-469-4663.

Q:

Kenmore Elite Dishwasher #63016309400 will not start Model #63016309400

A:

Thank you for choosing SearsPartsDirect. I can certainly understand how frustrating it can be when your dishwasher is not working properly. I did look into the model number you have provided and I have found information to assist you.

I recommend checking the control panel to see if it has the correct voltage.

Checking live voltage is something I suggest only a technician do. You will need to access the control and check voltage across the Grey/black wire to the White/red wire. If you have 120 volts across those two wires and nothing is working then the control will need to be replaced.

If you have a meter and wish to check live voltage then remove the console.  First turn the power off.  On the main control look for a Gy/Blk wire and a Wht wire.  Across this two wires should be 120 volts when the power to the dishwasher is turned on.  If you have this voltage but nothing works then likely the control is at fault.

Let me know if this helps

Natasha, in one sentence you say to check across the Grey/black wire to the White/red wire. In the next sentence you say to check Gy/Blk wire and a Wht wire. Perhaps you can clarify?

You say there is a faint noise but the dishwasher will not start.

I suspect the control is the problem here but to confirm the diagnosis a voltage check at the control will need to be made.

I would suggest a technician do this repair. If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Searss technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

If you have a meter and are confident using it then give me a reply and we'll get into the console and make the live voltage check.

I would like to proceed with instructions for the live voltage check at the control for Model 63016309400. Dishwasher stopped mid cycle. Will not run, no lights, no sound when pushing start button. Fixed this problem in the past by unplugging power for 30-40 minutes, then restarting.
