I know that it can be very frustrating to have issues with your dishwasher. From what you are describing, it sounds like you do have an internal component problem. You should be able to shut off the breaker and access the fill valve to check the resistance of this component. Remove one wire (with electrical power disconnected) and measure the resistance across the leads of the water valve. You should measure about 1K ohms (1000 ohms) with a volt/ohm meter. If not, then the fill valve will likely need to be replaced. If the fill valve is okay, then you could have a wiring failure, a stuck float switch or a failed control board that would prevent the dishwasher from filling. Also I have include images of the testing information for this model. They will help diagnose what the problem is. I hope this helps. If you need further assistance, please reply to this thread. I know that it can be very frustrating to have issues with your dishwasher. Cleaning the filter on this unit is very easy. The image below will provide the instruction on how to access and clean it. There is a product called Dishwasher Magic that is designed to clean mold, mildew, and hard water minerals inside the dishwasher. It may be purchased at Sears, most grocery stores or on line at Sears Parts Direct .

There are some other ways to clean the mold and get the smell out of your dishwasher. First remove the racks, including the silverware tray, from the dishwasher prior to removing mold and mildew. This makes it easier to reach all the corners and seals. Wash the racks and tray in the sink with dishwashing detergent and a sponge to get rid of any mold or mildew that may have come in contact with them. Set aside to dry on clean towels.

Combine 1/2 cup white vinegar with 2 cups hot water in a large bowl or spray bottle. Spray, or apply the mixture with a sponge or rag, onto the seal, door, and walls, and anywhere else you can see mold and mildew inside the dishwasher. Scrub the affected areas thoroughly with a toothbrush or scrub brush, and then rinse clean with hot water. Replace the racks, and fill a small dishwasher-safe bowl with white vinegar and place upright in the top rack. Run a regular wash cycle on the highest heat setting available. Sprinkle about 1 cup of baking soda on the bottom of the dishwasher floor, and run on the highest heat setting a second time. This will deodorize and remove any mold and mildew that the vinegar wash missed.

To prevent mold from forming on the inside of the dishwasher: If the dishwasher is not going to be used for long periods of time, make sure you wipe the moisture off of the inside of the dishwasher tub, racks and the door seal. Also you may try leaving the door slightly opened when not in use. I hope this helps. If you need further assistance, please reply to this thread. Thank you for using Manage My Life.
