Q:

625.388460 softener - gear cam keeps going round and round. Won't stop no matter what. 625388480 Kenmore Water softener

A:

Thank you for choosing Sears Parts Direct. I will be happy to help with your water softener. Upon researching model 625388480; I found information in the owner’s manual about the err 1. The information is on page 5-2. The motor seems to be ok being that the cam is moving. The valve open icon will be on when the valve is showing serv.  Check the water meter turbine by doing the magnet test. It could be the valve is bad.

Thank you for choosing Sears. We appreciate your business. Have a great day.

Thank you Jeff. That was not the problem. The position switch was bad. I just wish Sears could have responded sooner. I already ordered a part and made the repair myself before I heard back from you all. That is disappointing for customers who really need help and soon. I posted four days ago. That said, I am still grateful for your response and for Sears.

Q:

My water softener is leaking water onto the basement floor 625388460 Kenmore Water softener

A:

Thank You for choosing Sears PartsDirect.com and being a valued member. It is unfortunate to hear that you are having issues with your water softener and I do understand your frustration. Glad to help out. I'm looking at your model number 625388460 and if the water is leaking out of the connector that is in the salt tank, I suspect the problem is a plugged nozzle and venturi. When the softener starts a cycle, the first step is to fill the salt tank with water. Then the second step is to draw the water out of the salt tank. If the venturi is plugged the water will not be drawn out of the salt tank. Then over a few cycles the water level will increase and leak out of the over flow in the tank. I recommend cleaning the venturi and checking the operation.  After the venturi has been cleaned, allow the softener to complete a few cycles for the water level to return to normal. I also want to mention, the float assembly has to be pushed all the way down in the brine well. I also recommend checking for a stuck bypass. Check the o-rings to the bypass. If you have further questions please resubmit your question for further information. I hope this information helps you.

Q:

Water Softner resin in plumbing system 625.388460

A:

Thank you for choosing SearsPartsDirect.com. I will be more then happy to assist you.

Looking at the information im showing that if you start getting resin out of your plumbing it means there is a crack in the distributor tube. And allowing beads o escape from the tank.

They will clog everything up, go to the water softener and turn the tank into bypass mode so that you can stop the flow of the resin into the homes plumbing. That distributor tube needs to be replaced.

Hope this information has help you. If you are not comfortable doing this repair you can Click Here to schedule a technician or call toll free 1-800-469-4663.

Any further questions or concerns. You will have to post a new question because at this time I can not reply to any comments. Again, Thank you for choosing SearsPartsDirect.com.
