Thank you for your question.

I can understand going through the repair and then the unit will not cycle on it own.

Have you checked to make sure you have the correct capacity version in the program?

Push and hold the select button to make sure it says�s SR17 in the display. If it does not please arrow up or down until you get the correct SR17 on the display.

If it is reading the reed switch for water consumption then we know the reed on the turbine is in the correct position.

When you push the recharge button once, it should beep and flash for recharge tonight. If you push it twice you will shut it off. If you push and hold it will go into Recharge now.

Sam, Thank you for the reply. Looks promising! The softener has always read SR21 since I've had it. I pressed Select and attempted to change the capacity to SR17 but it wouldn't let me. It skipped down to SR16 and I left it there. It was interesting that it then required me to completely reenter the hardness (30), the recharge time of day and the current time. After completing that it flashed Recharge Tonight. Apparently it did recharge last night because the faceplate now shows the number of recharges has incremented by one. I'll have to check it again after a few days to see if it now does the automatic recharge but it appears that that has solved the problem. Thanks again, Martin

Well, no luck with automatic recharge (as of 29 April). Again I unplugged unit and set it back to SR21 (SR17 not available). See if that works.
