Question and Answers

Q:

old murry snow thrower 620301X4D

A:

I'm sorry you're having this problem removing the pulley but they can be difficult. When not removed for awhile, they can get rusted and will be difficult. The threads on the end of the shaft will be reverse threads, so the pulley will need to be rotated clockwise to remove it. I'm attaching a link to a video that will show how to remove the pulley.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U1qLuSSAp2A . I hope this will help you.

Q:

auger replacment on snow thrower 620301X4D Murray Snow thrower

A:

Thank you for choosing SearsPartsDirect.com. I will be more then happy to assist you. To remove the auger pulley on this model you have to loosen the bolts on the backside of the pulley. There should be two bolts that are threaded into the collar of the pulley. Use a 1/2 inch socket on an extension to reach the bolts. Once the bolts are loosened, you should be able to pull the pulley off. If the pulley will not budge, you can soak it with WD-40 and let is sit for a while. If that does not do the trick, you might have to use a two-jaw puller you remove the pulley. Hope this information has help you.
