Question and Answers

Q:

Marvel 6BAR 61AR Marvel Compact refrigerator

Q:

Marvel 61AR Fan not running

A:

Thank you for your inquiry on your Marvel Refrigerator, Model: 64AR. From reviewing the details on your model, since you have replaced the temperature control and the thermistor the only parts I could think of that could be causing the problem would either be the motor or a short in the wiring.

Safety Warning: Before beginning the repair, disconnect the direct power supply to the refrigerator to prevent the risk of injury or any electrical shock.

If you don’t feel comfortable or confident in this repair, then you can have it repaired at home by a sears technician. I have the included a link to the website: Sears Home Services or call 1-800-469-4663.

I hope this answered your question. Thank you for contacting SearsPartsDirect.com, and have yourself a wonderful day.

Q:

fridge freezes up then thaws 61AR Marvel Compact refrigerator

A:

Thank You for choosing Sears PartsDirect.com and being a valued member. It is unfortunate to hear that you are having issues with your refrigerator and I do understand your frustration. Glad to help out. I'm looking at your model number 61AR and from your description I would suspect a problem with the thermostat item 17. The parts list for your model shows 2 different setups for it. I did not see a heater listed which turns on to heat and melt the ice that has built up. Being that it is a compact unit it may not require a heater. I recommend testing the thermostat and verify it is allowing the compressor to continue to work. Here is a link that may help with testing. I have included a link to our Parts Direct page where you can purchase the part you need to complete your repair. Just click the blue link above to be taken to the page. I trust this information will help you.

Thank you for choosing Sears PartsDirect.com.
